Hatchmere nature reserve
2km circular trail
Take a walk around Hatchmere lake and enjoy a variety of habitats shaped over thousands of years. Wet heathland, wet woodland, reed beds and drier deciduous woodland all connect together to provide habitats for specialist and rare species of plants and animals.
There is some pavement to cover before you get into the forest (if walking in a clockwise direction), but once you have walked down past the Carriers Inn down Delamere Road and then turn right at the cross roads onto Ashton Road, you’ll soon be in the forest. The pictures were taken in Summer, it can get quite boggy in the Winter.
